For those who are petrified of paper cuts: dungeon-building card game Boss Monster is now available in digital form as Android app for tablets.

You play as the super villain from the end of your typical NES game, and must build a treacherous underground lair using a handful of room cards. Then, would-be heroes will try - and hopefully fail - to get through your traps.

This is a straight-up adaptation of the paper game, with all the same art and cards. Only with automated stat tracking and the ability to play against AI opponents in solo play. You can also challenge other human opponents online.

The game is free to download and try, with one £6.11 / $6.99 in-app purchase to get the whole thing. Those who backed the project on Kickstarter should check their email for a code to unlock the game.

This has been a bit of a hit on the crowd-funding service. The physical card game raised over $200,000 on Kickstarter, and the digital edition racked up a further $150,000 on the service. Not too shabby.

If you'd rather play it on iPad, developer Brotherwise Games says "the release date now depends on Apple, so it is uncertain, but if all goes smoothly we are hopeful for next week."
