Bonsai Slice is a first-person slicing game that turns your iPad into a sword
Stablet

Bonsai Slice isn't quite your typical gyroscope-based iPad game.
Whereas most iOS games use the gyroscope in your device to convert your body turns and swivels into gun movements, Bonsai Slice uses the gyro to translate your pivots into sword movements.
It makes for more energetic and precise gameplay. You swish your iPad around, then, to slice doughnuts, apples, and milk cartons that appear in waves from a hollow tree trunk.
Bombs that you need to avoid will also appear in the waves. Plus, you're under time pressure. You're given 60 seconds in which to slice and score as many points as possible, you see.

You can spend the coins you earn on increasing that time, if you wish. You can also spend them on better swords that grant you score multipliers and time bonuses.
As you might have guessed, there are IAPs here that offer instant packs of coins.
Bonsai Slice is fresh and fun at first. But I found that it soon gets repetitive and loses its spark.
You can purchase Bonsai Slice for £1.99 / £2.99 from the App Store for your iPad.
