With its action-packed scenes and adrenaline-pumping gameplay, I'd say BlazBlue Entropy Effect is a roguelike action platformer unlike any other. It only makes sense, then, that you'd want to fill up your roster with prime picks, doesn't it?

This is where our guide to the best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect comes in, because if we could all unlock the god-tier characters from the get-go in any game, the world would be a much better place.

While we don't have that kind of power over here, we can still do our best to help you out. Once you know exactly who you should unlock, you'll be able to enjoy the battles a lot more. Trust me - I know that for me, it made a huge difference between when I was playing Es and when I was playing Ragna, despite both having similarities in their play styles.

Before we check who the best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect are, let's talk a little bit about how to unlock them.

How to unlock new characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Once you finish playing through the tutorial, you'll learn a lot more about unlocking new characters. There are a few ways you can do so, and those include:

  • Prototype Analyzers (story mode)
  • AP Points (Janitor)
  • Buy them straight up using money (you exchange money for Analyzers)

If you want to unlock them all, there is a quick way - you can purchase a pack that costs around $10, and it will give you 6 Analyzers. The first one you purchase will also come down to about $1 (it's a one-time deal), and to buy them individually, they will cost about $2.

Personally, I liked what I saw, so I opted for the $1 offer, which is how I got my Ragna right off the bat.

Best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect

I would argue that, as of right now, the best characters are as follows:
Best (Top-tier)
Mid tier
  • Bullet
  • ICEY
  • Hazama
  • Hakumen
  • Es
  • Lambda-No.11-
  • Kokonoe
Low tier
  • Hibiki
  • Taokaka

1
Ragna

ragna best melee character

When you use Ragna, you want to focus on Universal Enhancement, since it affects multiple moves. It will cause Ragna to use HP to attack, but those attacks will also deal more damage and lifesteal.

He can also scale when you upgrade the other skills, but once you upgrade this one, he will become one of the best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect you've ever played.

2
Mai

mai feature menu

Mai is mainly up here because her true potential is locked behind the player's skill. Basically, if you put in the time to learn her kit, she can melt any enemy with a ton of HP.

If you are patient and also time your dodges and attacks perfectly, you can pull some big plays with Mai, but otherwise, if you are just trying to play for fun, it's best to do it with Ragna.

3
Jin Kisaragi

jin kisaragi the swordsman

Jin might seem a little bit lacking at the start, but once you get his kit down, you'll see just how downright amazing he can be. He can basically decimate any enemy when he has a few upgrades, which is why he's in the top tier.

I get a feeling you won't rely that much on the freezes (because everything will be dead), even though you can unlock them.

4
Rachel

rachel feature character

To really make Rachel shine, you should learn her combos - once you do, she will be so fun to play and she can outdo pretty much any opponent. She is that much more entertaining to play because she can summon - especially her George XIII skill, which summons frogs. Ivy Blossom is great when you want to combo it with the frogs.

5
Noel

noel character feature

She has an insane speed. She is super strong. She has AoE. She has CC. What more do you need? Noel is a great character for those who love a ranged playstyle. She won't disappoint you, that I can guarantee.

If you manage to time your Quick Reload right, you can use it to dodge some attacks (since she is invincible while using it). There are so many techniques you can pull off with her - that is, if you can get past her initial "boring" stage (until you make some upgrades).

Here's hoping you manage to get your hands on some of the best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect to make each run shine! And if you simply love dominating the battlefield with the best lineup of characters in your roster, why not have a look at our Kingdom Rush Battles best heroes guide too?
