Ballistic Hero VNG brings Worms-like action to an anime-style universe
Big eyes and bigger guns

- Ballistic Hero VNG takes a new spin on the Worms-like format
- Blast your foes (or friends) to pieces with all manner of over-the-top weaponry
- Nab new exciting loadouts and limited skins, or customise your own fighter
In terms of genres which mobile tends to riff on, I think it's safe to say nothing is off-limits. The double-edged sword of such a vibrant platform is that you either get genuinely good and innovative spins on done-to-death concepts or lazy cash-ins. But with Ballistic Hero VNG, it's something you'd never really expect to see somebody put a spin on.
You may look at Ballistic Hero and its characters, design and general look and guess this is some sort of turn-based RPG. Nope, in fact Ballistic Hero is one of the few released I'd categorise as a Worms-like.
Yes, Worms, as in the famous PvP turn-based multiplayer battler. Ballistic Hero comes complete with the slow, deliberate, but explosive action that sees you take on your friends in a battle to the death. Zap 'em with something quick and easy to use, or hold out for a massive ballistic barrage from rocket launchers and mortars.

If it works
Of course, Ballistic Hero does have a few missing mechanics, which may put off Worms fans. For one, the lack of destructible terrain is a hallmark of the franchise. But other than that, this seems to be a faithful if more casual-focused riff on the format. You'll, of course, have to contend with a bit of gacha for nabbing new weapons and limited-time skins, but it looks as if you'll also be able to customise your own kooky character for battle. So keep an eye out for Ballistic Hero as it's set to arrive on Android and iOS later this month.
