Gameloft is getting rather satirical as it matures on the App Store with a new game in the works that aims to poke the banks and governments squarely in the eye, called Bailout Wars.

A take on the castle defence game, Bailout Wars casts you as an army regiment attempting to protect the taxpayer's money by repelling the greedy, clamouring bankers from getting to the White House for a big, juicy bailout (also known as a 'bonus' for upper management in the financial industry).

As topical as this 59p titles, it's actually quite an important move for the French mobile gaming giant. This marks the company's move toward the casual, budget priced iPhone game, presumably prompted by Gameloft's rising fortunes thanks almost entirely to the App Store.

This also follows the lead of other gaming powerhouses also turning their attention toward the lowest pricing tier, and while the 'race to the bottom' is apparently a cause for concern with Apple, it's no bad thing for the impoverished gamer who'll still be picking up the bill after the world's bankers have retired to their private islands in the sun.

Here's some more info on Bailout Wars, which should hopefully be with us soon:

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
