Bad Piggies 2, the sequel to the prequel of Angry Birds, has soft-launched in select regions

Legendary developers Rovio Entertainment have finally soft-launched their latest title, Bad Piggies 2, which has become available for iOS users in certain regions. This sequel to a prequel - I’ll explain; don’t worry - was confirmed to be coming out back in October of 2022 and has now finally become playable for select audiences ahead of its full launch planned later this year.

To circle back to that sequel to a prequel business, the original Bad Piggies was actually a prequel to the classic Angry Birds. It features the story told from the side of the opponents within those games, and sees you tackling various puzzle challenges from the perspective of the pigs rather than the birds. These puzzles differentiate from the typical bird flinging in a variety of ways, including constructing full vehicles and using them to solve different goals.

And now with Bad Piggies 2, we have a sequel to that sort of gameplay from back then. It features more of the same with some light additions and a bunch of new stages. The constructing vehicles side of the game especially makes for some really engaging and freeform puzzle solving, as there’s rarely only one decision and a variety of ways to solve the stage instead.

It takes the traditional formula of a classic game like Angry Birds and transports it to new heights with a ton of different features and an overall new way of solving puzzles that had a pretty rigid solving structure to begin with. With such an interesting take on a staple formula, it’s easy to see why many gamers were excited for Bad Piggies 2 to drop.

And now, players located within Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Poland, and Norway can finally take part in the game too, as long as they’re using an iPhone or associated device.
