Avatar: Reckoning lets players explore Pandora in a mobile-exclusive MMORPG, coming this 2022

Archosaur Games, Tencent, Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney have teamed up to bring Avatar: Reckoning to both iOS and Android devices this 2022. The upcoming MMORPG is an exclusively mobile title that will take players back to the world of Pandora in a new and more immersive way.

Avatar: Reckoning features intuitive controls for mobile devices along with high-end graphics players can enjoy to get the full open-world experience. Players can create and customise their own Avatars and explore Pandora with fresh eyes, driving off malevolent forces at the same time. Apart from single-player story missions, there will also be co-op quests and PvP modes to keep things social.

Of course, the game will be set in the universe of the hit James Cameron film Avatar from 2009, and is likely a tie-in to the upcoming sequel to the movie (which will supposedly be out on December 16th this year). There will also supposedly be three more planned sequels after that. In the game, players will take on the role of a member of certain Na’vi clans in order to drive back RDA troops threatening their homeland.

Avatar: Reckoning will be developed by Archosaur Games and published by Level Infinite, and is built on Unreal Engine 4 to create lush environments just waiting to be explored. It's all a little bit hush-hush at the moment, and details are yet to be revealed, but for now, you can head on over to the game's official website to have a look around and get a feel of the environment for a bit.
