Asset 15 is an AR thriller that sees you hacking into minds to repair broken memories, out now for iOS and Android
Today, developer 30 Ninjas has announced the release of Asset 15, an augmented reality thriller for iOS and Android. Created in partnership with Verizon, the game promises an immersive experience that utilises photorealistic 3D Holograms.
It tells the story of two sisters, Flux and Petra. When Petra falls into a coma after interacting with experimental AI tech, it's up to her sister to try and save her. Helios, the company she works for, was working on transcranial MR glasses that allow users to upload memories to the cloud.
To save her sister, Flux will need to hack into her memories and connect her thoughts by solving a series of 3D AR puzzles. By successfully finding the solution, you can reconstruct the broken scenes in Petra's mind to unravel the mystery behind Helios' questionable technology.
Discussing the game, Julina Tatlock, Founder and CEO at 30 Ninjas, said: “As creators and storytellers, we always strive to build narratives that allow players to ‘lose’ themselves within the experience.”
“In Asset 15, we have created an experience that not only merges the real, physical world with the virtual experience of interacting with the characters as 3D holograms, it allows players to feel a greater emotional connection with the characters. This is just the beginning of how we see storytelling evolving in entertainment, and we think that it holds a lot of promise and creative possibilities.”
Asset 15 is the brainchild of Doug Liman, who has previously worked on The Bourne Identity and Mr and Mrs Smith. Meanwhile, the main character Flux is played by Amandla Sternberg, who has previously starred in The Hunger Games.
Asset 15 is available now on the App Store and Google Play, where it is free-to-play with in-app purchases. You can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
