LoL: Wild Rift Shyvana Guide: Best build, items, runes
Updated on: July 27, 2021

In this League of Legends: Wild Rift Shyvana guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from her skills and how to allocate them to her build, skill combo, and runes. Here is what you will find in the Shyvana  guide below:

Shyvana, The Half-Dragon is one of the Wild Rift champions that can shapeshift, gaining a new set of skills whenever she does so. This can be seen in champions like Gnar and Jayce (who have not been released yet), and that only means one thing - her kit can vary depending on what form she's in. In Dragon form, Shyvana has slightly different effects than in Human form and is a tad more powerful.

But there's something more - Shyvana gains additional benefits from slaying the Drakes. Her skills get empowered depending on which Drakes spawn in the game, and if you manage to secure them, your skills will receive additional stats. From true damage to increased movement speed and on-hit crowd control, she can be extremely versatile.

In terms of difficulty, Shyvana is a pretty easy to play champion. Most of her abilities are auto-attack reliant, except for Skill 3 which you have to target (but has a pretty big area anyway). That makes her a fun champion to play, and a pretty powerful one too.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Shyvana skills

Fury of the Dragonborn (Passive)

Shyvana deals bonus damage to dragons. Killing an Elemental Dragon permanently empowers Shyvana's abilities while in Dragon Form.

Twin Bite (Skill 1)

Shyvana strikes twice on her next attack. Basic attacks reduce the cooldown of Twin Bite. Dragon Form: Twin Bite cleaves all units in front of Shyvana. Slaying Mountain Drake causes Twin Bite to slow enemies while in Dragon Form.

Burnout (Skill 2)

Shyvana surrounds herself in fire, dealing magic damage per second to nearby enemies and moving faster for 3 seconds. The Movement Speed reduces over the duration of the spell. Basic attacks extend the duration of Burnout. Dragon Form: Burnout grows in size. Slaying Cloud Drake gives Shyvana 25% extra Movement Speed while in Dragon Form.

Flame Breath (Skill 3)

Shyvana unleashes a fireball that deals damage to all enemies it encounters and leaves cinders on the target, marking them for 5 seconds. Shyvana's basic attacks on marked targets deal a percentage of their maximum Health as damage on-hit. Dragon Form: Flame Breath explodes on impact or at target location, dealing bonus damage and scorching the earth for a short duration. Slaying Infernal Drake converts damage dealt to marked enemies to true damage while in Dragon Form.

Dragon's Descent (Skill 4 / Ultimate)

Shyvana transforms into a dragon and takes flight to a target location. Enemies along her path take damage and are knocked toward her target location. Shyvana passively gains Fury per second and gains 2 Fury on basic attack.

How to combo as Shyvana

Most of Shyvana's skill combos are easy to execute and don't require too much training beforehand. That's exactly what makes her such an appealing pick to many players.

- Skill 4 (ultimate) -> Skill 3 -> Flash -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack

This would be your main engage tool - you will ultimate onto the opponents, then quickly Flash towards them and start auto-attacking.

- Skill 2 -> Skill 3 -> Flash -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack

This would be your pre-level 5 combo - you can start a fight using this because by using Flash you'll extend the range of your Skill 3.

- Skill 2 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 3 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attacks

This combo is another simple one that will just rely on your sticking to your opponent and taking them down with normal attacks.

In what order to level up the skills?

For Shyvana, you want to max your Skill 3 first, then continue by levelling Skill 2, and finally Skill 1.

  • Level 1: Skill 3
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 1
  • Level 4: Skill 3
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 3
  • Level 7: Skill 3

Keep levelling Skill 3 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 2, and lastly on Skill 1. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (ultimate).

The best summoner spells

Smite: Deal 440 true damage (440 - 1100) to a large or epic monster or minion. Smiting monsters restores 70 HP. Slaying 4 large monsters upgrades Smite to Chilling Smite or Challenging Smite, which can target enemy champions. (+ the bonuses from Hunting License and Tooth and Nail from Smite, that charge once every 45s)

Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Boots

Gluttonous Greaves is going to be your main choice of boots for the spell vamp, but you can also go for Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabis if you want to be tankier.

The best choice of Enchant is Stasis, Glory or Protobelt
