Ellada Games has announced it is bringing its 2D survival game Niffelheim to iOS devices. The game has been previously available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, and later today you’ll be able to grab it from the iOS App Store.

Niffelheim is a 2D survival game with great visuals and a unique atmosphere, where you take on the role of a fearless Viking who has fallen in battle and earned a place in Valhalla, the afterlife of all warriors in Norse mythology.

Unfortunately, you have instead landed in Niffelheim, a much darker world than any place you’d have hoped to be going. Your goal is to survive and make your way to Asgard. You can build a large fortress, fight swarms of dangerous enemies, descend into dark dungeons to find resources, and slay dozens of mighty bosses.

Niffelheim was originally released as a Steam Early Access game in 2016, and was released as a full title in 2018. It was then made available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch since 2019, and has been showered with praise and high user ratings as well as being localised into 14 languages.

Now the game is available for iPhones and iPads using iOS version 13 and above for a comfortable gaming experience. This version has been tweaked for this new format, with a revised user-friendly interface and more comfortable controls.

Niffelheim is available now from the iOS App Store, where it is a paid title which costs £7.99. There’s no word on whether the game is coming to Google Play on Android, but we’ll be sure to provide an update if more information is shed on this.
