Avid Games is celebrating the dark side of love with its new History of Heartbreak pack for CUE Cards.

This card pack looks at the more jealous, murderous and macabre side of love through the ages that shines a light on some of history’s most dastardly and despicable acts committed in the name of love.

It features all sorts of nasty commemorations of these acts committed all over the history of the earth, as well as featuring culturally significant locations which are also associated with love. This includes the Passerelle des Arts in Paris, where lovers leave padlocks as a token of their feelings, as well as the Skull of Saint Valentine which ended up in the Basilica di Santa Maria in Rome.

Paul Mayze from Avid Games said: “They say that the path of true love never did run smooth. That’s certainly true of many of the unfortunate individuals that grace our latest Valentine’s inspired CUE Cards. But while these characters may have been unlucky in love, the beauty of CUE Cards is that with the right combination of other cards they can be part of a hugely successful winning deck. Who needs a heart anyway?”

CUE Cards, which is short for Cards, the Universe and Everything, is an award winning card-collecting and battling game where knowledge is power. In the game, you have to use strategy to battle against literally anything, from Napolean versus a Velociraptor to a Wombat taking down String Theory.

You can download CUE Cards now from the iOS App Store or the Google Play for Android store, where it is a free to play game containing adverts and in-app purchases.
