Deco is a colourful-looking puzzler from indie developer Daniel Lutz, also known as Studio Gridpop, who is best known for his work on Hitman GO and Lara Croft Go, two excellent mobile games. Deco is more of side-project that was created during lockdown and is available now in soft-launch for iOS for those living in Canada.

According to a recent post on Reddit, the soft-launch is to test stability and gather feedback, whilst a worldwide release is expected in the coming months. It promises a series of clever puzzles where you'll be swiping, moving and matching on each of the game's stages.

There will be hundreds of different puzzles to tackle and they will also be a mixture of types, rather than endless variants of the same kind. On one stage you might be matching tiles whilst another you might be collecting items or even chasing after ghosts, for instance.

Along the way, you'll gather a variety of different trinkets that can be viewed on an in-game shelf. Each will have its own background story to discover as you continue to grow your collection. Each level is intended to be both colourful and minimalist in design so it doesn't feel overly cluttered. You can check out some gameplay in the embedded trailer above.

Deco is available now in Canada over on the App Store. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
