Robotics! is the latest game from developer ZeptoLab, the folks behind Cut the Rope and Crash Arena Turbo Stars. It was initially announced back in July after a period of soft-launch testing and now it's available for both iOS and Android where it looks to build on the foundations laid down by CATS.

Robotics! will see players creating a mechanised battler from a plethora of spare parts. But once it's been created it won't know how to move just yet so players will have to take some time to teach it how to walk around as well as fight.

This is achieved simply by dragging parts of the robot in various directions. Once learned player's robotic battler will then repeat these actions when sent into a fight with another player's creation. These bouts will be physics-based so you can expect your mechanised fighter to stagger around wildly as it tries to outwit its foe.

Max Petro, COO of ZeptoLab, discussed the launch of the game, he said: “We’re very proud of this project, Robotics! takes the elements that made C.A.T.S. a global success — it's “easy to learn, hard to master” type of gameplay, quick battles, variety of content and a cute art style — and provides them with an extra layer of depth by adding an ability to program your robot’s moves.”

He added: "The reception seems to be great so far: Robotics! was announced on July 16, and in less than a month got more than 1M pre-registrations. The game’s been in soft launch in key markets for more than a year, and since then we got half a million installs with an average rating of 4.4 on both platforms. Robotics is also boasting a 53% D1 retention and 70% organic user base. We’re excited about the launch and hope that it’s just a start.”

Robotics! is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
