Run for president of the United States in The Political Machine 2020, available now for iOS & Android

The Political Machine 2020 is a political strategy game that sees you running for president of the United States. Hitcents and Stardock have once again updated the core Political Machine experience to feature a more up-to-date roster of presidential hopefuls, and the latest version is available now as a premium game for iOS and Android.

The basic idea is that you'll travel the country in the hopes of drumming up enough support to win those all-important 270 electoral college votes. You'll pick and carefully manage your key issues while closely monitoring swing states in order seize victory over on the competition. Voter behaviour and leanings across each state are based on current polling data, which is said to allow for some fairly accurate simulations of how specific issues would be received.

Some of the base candidates on offer include Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, and Mike Pence. Then there are the paid candidates, such as George W. Bush, Andrew Yang, and Mitt Romney (no Mike Gravel?). They all have their own ideology trees to work with, which should hopefully encourage repeat runs.

If none of them are to your liking, you can even create your own candidate from scratch. Regardless of who you play as, you can expect to have to deal with all manner of challenges along the way, from nation tragedies to economic disasters.

This year's version boasts an improved presentation and, seemingly, a more sophisticated simulation that looks at polling data, voter enthusiasm, and the recent census to offer a believable look at present-day US politics.

Those looking to spend even more time fretting over how it all came to this will find The Political Machine 2020 available for purchase now over on the App Store and Google Play.
