TwistoMaze is an isometric puzzler with shifting perspectives that's available now for iOS and Android

TwistoMaze is an isometric puzzler where you'll be given the fairly simple task of guiding a character from the start of the level to the end. It's the latest game from Impossibru, who you may know from games such as The Incredible Platformer. TwistoMaze is available now for iOS and Android.

If you did happen to play The Incredible Platformer then you may recognise the little character you'll be guiding in TwistoMaze as it appears to be the same one. Except that this time you'll be guiding them through 50 levels from an isometric viewpoint instead of the typical 2D platforming setup.

It's loosely similar in concept to Dino Dungeon, which launched last week, only from a different viewpoint. The character you'll be taking from start to finish will control themselves whilst you need to make sure they make it to the door at the end of each stage by placing tiles on the floor.

These tiles have arrows on them that you can rotate. Once our little alien hero steps on them they will walk in the direction the arrow is facing. If you neglect to put one down they'll quite happily walk off the edge of the map to an untimely end.

The isometric viewpoint also means that sometimes the end goal might be on the side of a wall. In these cases, you'll have to place arrows on the ground that will spin the level around once the character steps on it. You can see an example of this in the trailer above.

It looks to be a very straightforward game on the surface but once you factor in the changing perspective aspect of the gameplay there's the potential for much more complexity. You'll need to try and picture what the stages will look like once the level has been rotated or be happy to indulge in a little trial and error each time.

TwistoMaze is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game that is supported by ads.
