Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade is an upcoming MMO strategy game that's heading for mobile in the first half of 2020

There's been no shortage of Warhammer games in recent years. In fact, it seems like we're never too far away from a new one becoming available. This year we've already seen Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower announced and now, for 40k fans, we have Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade. It's slated to release for mobile devices in the first half of 2020, with the game releasing in China first before a global launch.

The game has come about following a licencing deal between Chinese company Orca Games and Games Workshop. It will be an MMO strategy title that will see players commanding fleets in space whilst battling with heroes on 3D battlefields. Beyond that, there's very little information to go on. We do know that Orca Games won't be publishing the game alone. Instead, it will be a joint effort between themselves and Chinese Central Television iCheng.

Speaking about the acquisition, Shao Fang, CEO of Orca Games said: We are very excited to be working on such a beloved and successful IP. In addition to a range of familiar gameplay mechanics, the game includes a wide variety of heroes from Warhammer 40,000 and comprehensive real-time battle scenes that allow for a huge amount of tactical strategy.”

They added: “We also have the pleasure of cooperating with China Central Television iCheng to ensure that new and existing Warhammer fans across China will get the opportunity to discover and enjoy Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade.”

Orca Games itself has specialised in both casual and strategic games since it was founded in 2015. Its staff include folks that have worked for other well-known mobile gaming companies such as Kabam, Gameloft, Zynga and Changyou.

Warhammer 40,000: Lost Crusade is set to release for mobile devices in China and then the rest of the world within the first half of 2020. So whilst details are fairly thin on the ground at the moment, we can expect to hear more soon.
