Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers is a turn-based RPG from Bandai that's heading for iOS and Android in April

Bandai Namco has unveiled a new Saint Seiya RPG today called Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers that will be heading for both iOS and Android on 23rd April. It will be Bandai's second mobile game based on the popular series following Saint Seiya Cosmo Fantasy.

In Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers you'll battle against other players using a team made up of characters from the Saint Seiya pantheon. These battles promise to deliver highly-detailed, 3D attacks that will play out as cutscenes once you've selected the moves you want to use.

Despite this flashy exterior, it will still be a strategic, turn-based game at its core. Each player will have a team of six characters, three of which they will bring into battle whilst the remaining party will provide support using 'Team Effects'.

It won't be 3 on 3 combat though, instead, it'll be 1 on 1 with the option of switching out characters when you feel the need to. That means you'll want to create as balanced a team as possible to ensure that you'll always have the right character to switch in to face your opponent.

Naturally, each character will have access to their own skills and abilities you'll need to consider when creating your team. Some might have access to elemental effects that are crucial for turning the tide of battle while others might be well served to play a supporting role.

As you've probably deciphered, Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers will be a gacha game - as is evident from the pre-registration bonus. If more than 300,000 people pre-order the game globally then players will be given Galaxy Stones that will be the equivalent of 10 summons. They'll also get some equipment buff materials.

Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers is available for pre-register now over on the App Store and Google Play ahead of its launch on 23rd April. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
