Run to some sweet synth-wave tracks

Synthwave Runner is a stylish looking runner for iOS and Android that's available now

Synthwave Run is the first game from Kristiyan Kralev who also goes by That Friendly Dev. As you may have already guessed from the title, it's a runner set to various synth-wave tracks. It's available now for both iOS and Android.

It promises to be a challenging ride that will seriously test your reflexes. Development started on the game back in 2018 and since then the developer has died more than 3000 times and he presumably knows how to play the game better than anyone. So if you're looking for a difficult runner this might be the one for you.

You'll be dashing, jumping and boosting your way through the various level at speed, having to rely on your reflexes to ensure you're choosing the right action. Jumping will be used for hurdling different objects, boosting will allow you to reach further away surfaces and dashing will be used to destroy enemies, dodge objects and slip through small gaps in certain walls.

It will all be backed by some pretty excellent sounding synth music, which you can get a sample of in the trailer above. It also really compliments the game's stylish neon, minimalistic aesthetic too. You'll also get a little 'track playing' bar in the top corner so if you find yourself particularly enjoying a certain song you won't have to look too far for it.

There is a purpose to all the running, dashing and boosting you'll be doing. It's not all running to cool music for the sake of it. The aim of the game is to reach the core and there are a few Runners you can choose from to get there. Some will require an IAP to unlock whilst others can be earned by playing the game and earning a different currency.

Synthwave Run is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
