Marvel Future Fight is bringing four completely original characters to the game

Marvel Future Fight developers Netmarble have announced they'll be adding four new superheroes to the game. They won't be character's you'll have heard of though, this new team called the 'Warriors of the Sky' is made up of entirely original characters made exclusively for the game.

This isn't the first time Netmarble have ventured down this route either. Luna Snow, Crescent and Io were also original characters when they made their way into the game. It seems a strange choice when Marvel isn't exactly short of heroes to draw from, though at this point I suppose most of the big hitters are already in the game anyway.

Each character will, of course, have their own superpowers and backstories for players to discover. Firstly we have War Tiger. He is a big dude who wields a mystical weapon known as the Tiger Fang. He hails from Thailand and brings immense power and a wealth of combat experience to the team.

Blue Dragon is of Vietnamese descent and she wields a spear and a whip. She also has the ability to turn anything she touches into a draconic weapon, which sounds pretty handy if she ever happens to misplace her own. Meanwhile, Sun Bird takes on the support role in the group. He's also a Malaysian pirate from the 1600s who's been reborn, which is a pretty cool backstory in my opinion.

Finally, we have Shadow Shell. Originally from Taiwan, she'll defend her teammates from a distance using a futuristic rifle and Ba Gua Energy Shield. Her adopted family once attempted to kill her with poison but for some reason, that gave her toxic immunity, so that didn't work out too well for them.

Marvel Future fight is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
