Anzen: Echoes of War, a promising ARPG for iOS and Android, has launched a Kickstarter campaign

Anzen: Echoes of War is a promising looking multiplayer action RPG. The developers are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to help gain funding for the project. It's live now and will run until 20th November, by which time they're hoping to have raised $15,000.

Anzen is an ARPG that looks like it could scratch that Diablo itch that a lot of people are convinced Diablo Immortal won't provide. It promises an in-depth story as well as endgame content to give the game a lot of replayability.

You play as a Guardian, who is a soldier that's also gifted with magical abilities. You'll be tasked with travelling around the world of Aylin to discover the truths behind old legends and myths. The magical abilities you possess combined with your choice of weapon will dictate your playstyle rather than choosing a set class at the start of the game.

As you can see from the trailer above Anzen plays through fairly simple controls with a dedicated attack button and four slots for your abilities. These abilities appear to work on cooldowns rather than any kind of mana system.

Multiplayer is also planned to be part of the game so you can team up with your friends where you'll be able to take on the campaign and endgame content as a team. This will also apply to the expansions the game will be getting for free. These expansions will add new story, items and abilities to the game.

They aim to make Anzen a free-to-play game with a premium feel. They intend to have no ads, loot boxes or any microtransactions that affect gameplay. Instead, they're opting to go down the route of only having cosmetic IAPs.

Anzen: Echoes of War will be available for iOS and Android. If all goes to plan with the Kickstarter campaign the team are aiming for a late 2021 release, so there's quite a while to wait. If you'd like to try out a prototype version of the game you can do so through Test Flight and Google Play.
