Football Drama is a satirical take on both management and the football industry as a whole. You'll play as a manager with a shady past that will come back to haunt him whilst he tries to lead his team to greatness. Football Drama is available now for both iOS and Android.

Rocco Galliano is the new manager of a team called Calchester Assembled, returning after a 7-year hiatus from coaching. The owner of the club Boris Aluminovitch decides to give you a chance, though he seems eager to sack you given the opportunity.

So it's a narrative-driven football management game it seems. Off the pitch, you'll make various conversational choices that can lead to your eventual sacking if you make poor decisions. In-game these decisions fall under karma or chaos, though that system can also apply on the pitch too.

The actual management side of the game involves building a deck of cards that are essentially tactics. The cards you acquire are determined by your decisions off the pitch as well as the results your team achieve. Each of these cards is apparently inspired by the more ridiculous aspects of football today.

You'll choose these cards from the dugout during the game - which is turn-based - and they'll play out like a manager barking instructions from the touchline. As you can see from the trailer above, one example of these tactics includes keeping possession, presumably to lessen the chances of conceding rather than emulate the tiki-taka of Barcelona's Champions League winning team.

It's a cool take on the whole football management experience. Not many games try to incorporate the outside factors in these games so I'll be intrigued to see how well Football Drama does it.

Football Drama is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a premium game that costs £4.99/$4.99.
