Looks like Elder Scrolls: Blades isn't the only game that Bethesda is working on for mobile - it also appears to have a new game called Deathloop in the works.

As spotted by Gamespot, Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media registered for the "Deathloop" trademark back in December 2018 with the US Patent Office. It looks to already be in effect too, so don't go trying to nick the name for your next mobile game or you'll face the might of the ZeniMax lawyers.

The trademark is specifically for "mobile application software" and "entertainment services", which covers just about everything game-wise. This includes the ability to play things online, though given that Deathloop will probably be free-to-play, that's not exactly surprising - can't have in-app purchases if you can't connect to the internet, after all.

What we don't know is just what in God's name Deathloop actually is. Based on the name, I'd suggest it's some kind of roguelike, or any game which features dying over and over again. Like a looping death? You see?

This could also be Bethesda taking a crack at Blizzard and its announcement of Diablo Eternal last year, which annoyed basically everyone despite the fact it's probably a decent game. I'm basing that off "eternal" and "loop" being sort of similar conceptually.

The long and short of it is, we don't know what the hell ZeniMax is actually thinking with its trademark application. All we know is to keep an eye out for something called Deathloop at some point in the future.

While we wait, we can also get excited for Elder Scrolls: Blades, which is… delayed into March 2019 despite the developer saying it would launch in winter 2018? Huh. Don't worry, as soon as Bethesda locks down a real release date, we'll let you know.
