The Pokemon GO Safari events in Europe this month have been postponed until later in the year
No safari for you
If you were looking forward to the Pokemon GO Safari events in Europe this month, I've got some bad news for you.
After a less than spectacular first outing for Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago, the events in Copenhagen, Prague, Stockholm, and Amsterdam have been postponed.
This follows on from the slight catastrophe in Chicago, when the game's servers became overloaded and players couldn't get online. Niantic offered disgruntled players refunds and $100 worth of Pokecoins to make up for the problems.
Poke and wait
The postponements won't affect any of the other currently scheduled events though. So if you're heading to Yokohama in Japan on August 14th, or to the events in France, Germany, and Spain on September 16th, everything should still be up and running.
The postponed dates are set to be rescheduled for later in the year, and to make up for it Niantic has announced that some Pokemon you don't usually see in Europe are set to pop up for a brief time.
We'll make sure to keep you updated with details about the rescheduled events, and if you spot any of the new Pokemon on your travels, make sure you let us know in the comments below.
