Take this article with a pinch of salt, but it's pretty exciting news if it turns out to be factual. A week after the Nintendo Switch's reveal trailer, we may be getting a touchscreen device after all.
Despite showing off all of the places you can take your Switch, the detachment of its controllers, the little kickstand, the card slot, and its docking station we were never shown any sign that it could be touchscreen. Given Nintendo's upcoming debut in the mobile games area, it seemed awfully strange that the Switch wouldn't give us that option.
According to an article posted by Eurogamer yesterday, their trusted sources have leaked several bits of information that Nintendo has been keeping to itself. We could be getting our hands on a 6.2", 720p screen and – much like the average smartphone – the Switch may have a 10-point multi-touch display.
The question floating around a lot of our minds is why would Nintendo feel that the touchscreen was something to keep quiet? It could turn out that all of this is total nonsense, but if it is true the only benefit to secrecy would be to start up the rumour mill again and keep people excited about it for another five months.
It's a clever marketing ploy regardless.
