See how long you can ride in '80s-themed reaction racer Hotline Trail for Android
Easy rider
The only thing that Hotline Trail shares with Hotline Miami is its 1980s theme, despite the allusion in the title.
In this endless reaction racer, you control a biker as he cruises down a purple and green highway that forms as he travels along it.
The unusual colours have been picked out to represent the game's '80s aesthetic. The same can be said of the gentle warble of synth-powered music that accompanies your ride.
The presentation of Hotline Trail may seem relaxing, but the game isn't trying to let you unwind.
The unfolding road you travel across alters according to the commands of an omnipresent man's voice.
If he says "roundabout", then a roundabout will appear for you to go around. At other moments, chicanes are added suddenly, or mountains and forest, or perhaps the road narrows.
You have to react to each of these changes, and if you don't then you'll fall off the road and your score will be recorded. It's then time to forget your failure and start over.
Hotline Trail isn't too challenging, but it's a good distraction for a spare minute. Pick it up on Google Play [buy] for 90p.
