Square Enix has just released an iOS companion app for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

If you're one of the lucky handful of people who've actually managed to get on the servers for PS3 and PC MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, you might find yourself suffering withdrawal symptoms when you're away from your keyboard or controller.

Fear not, though. That's because Square Enix has just released a companion app for iPhone that enables you to keep track of your game even when you're out and about.

If you have a Final Fantasy XIV account, you can log into the Final Fantasy XIV: Libra Eorzea smartphone app and check out your gear, the gear of friends, and guild members' gear. You can tap on a piece of gear you fancy to find out how you can obtain it.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Libra Eorzea companion app also contains a comprehensive encyclopaedia of in-game items, NPCs, quests, and achievements that anyone can browse.

If you don't play the game, though, I can't imagine why you'd want to do that. To each his own, I suppose.

The iPhone version of the Final Fantasy XIV: Libra Eorzea app is available right now in the US, while there is an Android version in development.

Surprisingly for a Squeenix iOS app, it won't cost you a penny to download it.
