Hello again. Your usual host, Mike, is still in Germany so I'm here to guide you through this week's eShop update.

It's a lacklustre update. A damp squib. Uninspiring and unworthy of note. But we're here now, so we might as well get on with it.

Europeans get a batch of fresh downloadable games, while the US gets a digital version of one of last year's best 3DS (and Vita) games. Check it out, why don't you?

European eShop releases Cut the Rope

If you've somehow lived your entire life without playing ZeptoLab's cute and cuddly puzzler Cut the Rope, you can now grab it on your 3DS for the rather steep price of £4.49.

There's also mini game collection Funfair Party Games (£13.49), simple soccer game ARC STYLE: Football 3D (£4.49), angling sim FISH ON 3D (£8.09), and puzzler Carps & Dragons (£4.49).

Oh, and Boulder Dash-XL 3D - the sequel to the 1984 action puzzler that I'm sure someone, somewhere, remembers very fondly - is on the eShop for £4.49. We gave the physical edition a Bronze Award.

And on the Virtual Console, you can get NES classic(?) Solomon's Key for £3.59.

US eShop releases Virtue's Last Reward

Your big game this week is, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, which we described as a "mature, sophisticated, and delightfully dark whodunnit adventure" in our Gold Award review.

You play as Sigma, and you're locked in a mysterious gameshow with eight other unwilling participants. You'll have to work together and solve puzzles to escape the facility. It's fab, and it's $24.99.

This week's Virtual Console game is NES gem Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. And elsewhere on the eShop you'll find puzzler WAKEDAS, Funfair Party Games, and FISH ON 3D.
