And the rest... Civil War strategy, Infinity Blade sales, Detective Hunter

It's been a slow Monday so far for news, but we've still managed to tease out a few bits and bobs.

We're excited about getting to play Dreamcast racer Re-Volt on iOS, and it looks like Android players will get to try rage-inducing indie sensation Super Hexagon, too.

Not every morsel of mobile gaming news deserved its own PG article, though. Instead, they've found a home here. Among the best of the rest...

New releases

BattleBit has put out microscopic strategy game Little Conquest. You're going to be using "powerful mythological units and invincible siege weapons" in your quest to take over the land.

It's got online multiplayer with voice chat, and a two singleplayer campaigns. Out now on iOS, for £1.99 / $2.99.

Scotland Yard developer Ravensburger has got a new board game, on iPhone and iPad. It's called Whoowasit, it's by Reiner Knizia (how many board games has this guy made?!) and it's aimed at kids. £1.99 / $2.99 on iPhone, £2.99 / $4.99 on iPad.

We quite like the look of Brisk Mobile's iPad-only period shooter, Black Water. Using horse-drawn carriages to chase down trains could be a lot of fun.

Civil War: 1863, from a relatively new Scottish studio called Hunted Cow Studios, has Union and Confederate forces talk it out in a calm and mature manner.

Nah, just kidding. They fight to the death with cannons and muskets. It's a strategy game, with hex-based maps and a handful of units to toy with. Looks good, and £1.49 / $1.99 as a universal iOS app.

Hot updates

5th Cell's one-tap platformer Run Roo Run is now a universal app. If you bought the more expensive iPad edition then, well, you're out of luck. Sucks to be you.

Pictionary app Charadium has been rebranded as Draw Mania. Along with the new name, you can now use custom words, manage your pals, and play Draw Something-style asynchronous matches.

On the horizon

Side-scrolling brawler Detective Hunter looks rather posh. It's got a striking Sin City art style, with monochrome backdrops and characters in almost complete silhouette. It's by West Sybe Games, who you might know from Lost Colors.

Peter Molyneux and co want some "kind and curious people" to test out Curiosity - What’s inside the Cube before its official launch. Sign up here, and let us know what's inside the box.

Tech stuff

Some smart hackers have figured out a way to get 720p video recording out of the Nexus 7. Slap a few source files on your gadget, and the tiny tablet's front-facing camera becomes a handy HD camcorder.

Sales

Gorgeous gesture-based fighter Infinity Blade and its sequel are on sale. Infinity Blade is now 69p / 99c, and Infinity Blade II is £1.99 / $2.99. Might this suggest impending news on Infinity Blade Dungeons? We're not saying anything...
