If you paid attention to this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, you may have seen Nvidia's CEO Jen-Hsun Huang showcase an application called Splashtop THD.

If you didn't, it's a handy remote desktop application that allows you to - among other things - play 3D PC and Mac games on your Android-powered Tegra 3-packing tablet. In fact, at CES 2012, Huang showed blockbuster role-playing title Skyrim running on an Android tablet via the software.

Anyway, Splashtop THD is now available to download from the Android Market for all Tegra 3-powered tablets running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, such as the Asus Transformer Prime.

For the application to work, you will, of course, have to install a free Splashtop Streamer client on your computer. This client is compatible with hardware running Mac OS X 10.6+, Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

No bombing

The Splashtop THD application also gives you the ability to listen to music; watch videos and Flash content; access PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other productivity apps; and piggyback your computer's full web browser.

It's recommended that you use the Splashtop THD app, which is currently available for the introductory price of £4.44 [buy], with a computer that packs a dual-core CPU.
