The PSPgo may be on the way out, if online reports are to be believed.

A Japanese blog run by a Sony Shop employee (and helpfully translated by Andriasang) states that "Sony has confirmed to [my] sales manager that production on the troubled portable system is indeed ceasing."

The PSPgo has also disappeared from the Japanese Sony Store, with no stock listed for the device elsewhere.

Eurogamer got in contact with Sony, and received the following non-committal statement: "Before the end of the year we are launching NGP, our next generation portable device, which we believe will revolutionise portable gaming.

"In the meantime, the current generation of PSPs continue to be in demand, especially since the introduction of our value for money, Essentials range of games and we will continue to meet that demand."
