Grocery-selling, bum-smacking UK supermarket chain Asda has launched its preorder campaign for Nintendo’s 3DS, and is asking one of the lowest prices yet for the upcoming handheld.

While retailers like HMV and GAME are asking anywhere from £220 to £230 for the 3D games console, the supermarket has undercut them by a fair few pounds to offer the device for just £217, or £202 with the discount code 15OFF3DS.

But Shopto is still the reigning king of uber-cheap portables, asking just £199.85 for the console for a limited time.

Nintendo isn’t setting a price for the console, like the £180 Nintendo Wii, and is instead selling the 3DS to retailers at a base price (reportedly £173) and letting them choose the console’s price tag.

The Nintendo 3DS launches in the UK on March 25th, alongside launch games like Pilotwings, Street Fighter and Nintendogs + Cats.
