Apple to release 4.2 today, says latest rumour
|

Sigh, here’s another rumour about the release of iOS 4.2. It’s the highly anticipated firmware update that will add multitasking, folders, and Game Center to iPad, bringing all three of Apple’s mobile products into feature parity.

TechRadar says it’s out today, and will drop into iTunes like a covert paratrooper at 1PM Eastern Time, or 6PM Greenwich Mean Time. This comes from an unnamed source.

The update, which Apple has never given a release date for outside of the ambiguous “November”, has been slightly troubled.

Despite releasing a Gold Master edition to developers, which is meant to mean the very final build that will be delivered to customers, Apple has updated it more than once. Some nasty wi-fi and VOIP bugs were allegedly the cause.

Still, we’d rather wait for Apple to get the update right, than rush it to release full of glitches and bugs, wouldn’t you?
