To coincide with their GamesCom 2010 showing, Microsoft has sent over a bumper list of games and francises confirmed for release on the company’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform.

With a strict set of standards for mobile manufacturers to adhere to, a carefully curated app store and integration with all your Xbox Live favourites - gamerscore, achievements and even your avatar - Windows Phone 7 could be the gaming device to knock the iPhone from its perch.

The 63 announced games include plenty of names well known to gamers, like Crackdown, Halo, Castlevania and Guitar Hero, as well as titles familiar to iPhone fans, like I Dig It, Fruit Ninja and Flight Control.

There's also CarneyVale Showtime, an Xbox Live Indies title that's now being published by Microsoft itself for the device.

It’s a seriously impressive list, mixing the creme of the crop from iPhone with some serious exciting exclusives. It also boasts plenty of top developers and publishers, including Konami, Gameloft, PopCap, Microsoft Game Studios and THQ.
