Samsung has announced the release of its first Bada-powered handset, the Wave S8500, in the UK and France. This follows on from an initial roll-out in Germany last week.

The Wave is powered by Bada, Samsung’s own smartphone OS. It also features some hefty specs, such as a 1GHz processor and an ultra-clear 3.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.

In the UK, Vodafone still only has the device listed as available for pre-order on its website. However, the operator claims that it will aim to deliver any handsets ordered today from June 1st.

The Wave can be obtained for free on two year call plans starting from £25 per month, which gets you unlimited free texts and 300 free minutes.
