One of the big success stories in terms of iPhone time management games is Sally's Spa which has you rushing around pampering your customers with saunas, manicures and the like.

Women of a certain age - okay, those who like saunas and manicures so most of them - enjoyed it and it sold by the hundreds of thousands.

But what about Dan Kratt and Craig Rushforth, two of the developers?

Well, they decided to set up their own studio, called Blue Unit. Hottie Hookups is one of their first indie games.

As the title, and their history suggests, it's a time management game in which you draw lines to connect hotties dancing away in a variety of clubs.

Once you've hooked up the hotties, you defend them from a variety of nerds by flicking, tilting, or shaking them off. After the hotties have had enough time to groove together, then get them into a taxi to continue their narcissistic existences elsewhere.

Bitter? Moi? Indeed. Surely the geeks should be winning this slice...

"Building on our time management experience by incorporating elements into Hottie Hookups from other genres such as line drawing and castle defence was not only challenging, it was a lot of fun as well," said Craig Rushforth, lead programmer.

"Hottie Hookups is our take on dating, and combines multiple gameplay elements together with a funny, non-politically correct theme," added lead designer Dan Kratt.

Hottie Hookups is out now, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19.
