Like so many other big game developers, the new range of PSP Minis has captured the attention of mobile and iPhone developer Gameloft, which has just announced a roster of five launch games for Sony's handheld revival, four of which weren't included in the list revealed at GamesCom.

"For the past 10 years our focus and expertise has been digitally distributed games. From mobile games to iPhone/iPod Touch to next-gen consoles, our success stems from the ability to adapt and evolve on the latest platforms," said Gameloft president Michel Guillemot.

"The PSPgo will contribute to the innovations going on in the gaming space right now and we look forward to being front and center with our games at launch."

It's a fairly eclectic mix of games, clearly chosen cover as many bases as possible. The sporting side of things is covered by Let's Golf! and Real Soccer 2010, while iPhone big hitters Asphalt 5 and Hero of Sparta place the new PSP app store in lively competition with Apple's digital shop.

Rounding things out is a new adaptation of classic card game UNO, which will also feature online multiplayer - something that we really hope catches on with the PSP's new connected, digital outlook.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
