Sounds like a Marvel-lous idea

Speaking at GamesCom in Cologne, Sony has announced it'll be getting all wordy with the PSP come December, when it launches the Digital Reader.

The application (for want of a better word) will launch with Digital Comics, which, as you've guessed, will allow you to view comics on your PSP.

Marvel is on board, as Ira Rubenstein came out on stage to demonstrate. All the big names will be available, including Spider-Man, The Hulk, Daredevil, Iron Man - pretty much anything with the potential for a spin-off game.

But other companies will be included, to deliver such comic favourites as Archie, Transformers, Star Trek and a host of graphic novels.

Presumably the whole thing will expand to include books, magazines, newspapers and such - the first step toward making the PSP more of an essential media lifestyle device. Kind of like the iPhone.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
