With so many applications released daily on the App Store, developers are finding it increasingly difficult to get their games noticed.

You know what they need? A bigger company to help them out with marketing and PR duties, that's what.

At least, this is the reasoning behind the deal between Dundee studio Cobra Mobile and Warner Bros Digital Distribution.

Technically, it isn't a publishing deal, presumably because Cobra is still self-funding its games. Instead it's a distribution deal, which may seem strange considering the open nature of the App Store, but that's the way the business is flowing.

"We chose to work with WBDD over other distributors because of their iPhone app marketing team and their ability to create innovative campaigns," said Mark Ettle, Cobra Mobile's MD. "They are a strategic partner with Apple which further helps in getting visibility for our titles."

The first application handled as part of the deal is Stuck Genie (pictured), which is the iPhone and iPod touch-enhanced version of Cobra's mobile puzzler, Stuck!. It's out the App Store now for £1.19.

The second - due for release later this month - is Color Now, which as its name suggests, is a colouring package. You can use the finished images as wallpaper or print/send them to your friends via email.
