N-Gage service hits one million registered users
More than half signing up since October
Nokia has revealed that one million N-Gage user accounts have been registered since the service launched a year ago.
Perhaps the most remarkable fact, though, is that only in October that figure stood at 400,000. So to what can such extraordinary growth be attributed?
Since the last figure was calculated, Nokia has started selling handsets with the N-Gage service embedded, where it was previously only an optional download.
As any mobile publisher or operator will tell you, embedded software stands a much greater chance of being taken up by us lazy old consumers, who want everything on a plate.
Despite this optimistic Reuters report, Nokia was unwilling to reveal numbers of active users of the gaming service.
