Following Nokia’s announcement of the Ovi service, which will provide an App store-like service for the Finnish giant’s phones, there was speculation that N-Gage would be absorbed into the system.

A recent interview with a Nokia executive revealed that such a move is not on the cards just yet, but that convergence of all Nokia services is the ultimate goal.

Marco Argenti, Vice President for Media at Nokia, told Reuters that out of all of the separate Nokia services (including Nokia Download, MOSH and WidSets), N-Gage was “the experience we decided to preserve, at least at this stage."

Ultimately, though, it seems that N-Gage users can expect a major change in the way they experience their games.

"Our goal in the medium term is really to converge everything into a single distribution channel," said Argenti.
