Sony opens PSP Store on PC

The PlayStation Store for PC has launched and it should be of interest to all PSP owners. Why? Well, because it's "a world of PSP content accessible via PC", silly.

The all-new website (similar to the PlayStation Store on PS3, for those that know it) aims to bring together a considerable amount of content for Sony's handheld, which you can browse at your convenience.

So expect to find downloadable games (both new, simpler titles, as well as a selection of previously UMD-only releases – though Sony stresses there are currently no plans to dispense with the UMD retail model – and PSone classics), playable demos and trailers. In addition, you also get non-gaming related material, such as film trailers, wallpapers, themes, and "cool music content".

Not everything is free, obviously, and you'll need to register with the PlayStation Network service (PS3 owners can use their log-in details if they've already joined) and set up the appropriate payment options.

But even if you don't, there's plenty to enjoy without spending a penny. The PlayStation Store is live now, and you can check it out here.
