Sony and Sky have joined forces with the aim of offering video-on-demand to owners of PSP.

The two corporations have set up a joint venture company promising "a wealth of video and film content" from the off, with the service aimed at the UK and Ireland's 2.3 million-strong PSP audience.

Discussions concerning a European equivalent are said to be ongoing between the two companies and several Europe-based content providers while further details of the UK service such as cost and timescales are due to be announced at the forthcoming Leipzig Games Convention this August.
