Hudson Entertainment says Chew Man Fu is a classic, though we have to admit we hadn't heard of it until we saw the company's press release announcing a mobile version.

The game is apparently a faithful update of the original, and has you playing a boy or girl character through more than 50 levels of action-based puzzling.

The basic idea is to push coloured balls around onto their respective floor-mats, dodging enemies as you go (or kicking the balls at them, if you're an aggressive type). You can also break down walls using the balls too, giving you more room to move.

There's a plot, too, involving a wicked wizard called Chew Man Fu and a noble dynasty called, er, the Egg Roll Dynasty. Oh for the days when you could name things after the contents of a takeaway menu.

Anyway, Chew Man Fu is out soon in the US, and may well make it to Europe, too. Oh, and it's also being released as a Wii Virtual Console game, to whet your appetite.
