Carmegeddon, decried by The Daily Mail crowd as the downfall of Western civilisation when it came out on PC earlier this decade, has gone 3D on your mobile phone. Launched by Synergenix this week to complement the previously-released 2D version, it’s a good-looking game that rewards aggressive driving. Using a chase-cam view that follows your car from behind, it’s a much more involving playing experience than the 2D top-down view that left you feeling strangely detached.

The plot, what there is of it, sees you taking part in a series of races where you’re not only rewarded for winning but also for how many of your competitors you can total along the way. Driving angry pays off big-time as any bits you knock off your competitors’ cars you can keep and use to upgrade your own ride.

You’ll need a pretty capable handset to enjoy it, though; it’s currently only available for Nokia’s 6600, 6630, 6680 and N70, Sony Ericsson’s P800, P900 and P910 Motorola’s A920 and A1000.
