Arknights: Endfield shows off new Factorio-like gameplay in Gamescom trailer
Base building, tower defence and ARPG action, oh my

- Arknights: Endfield took top billing at Gamescom alongside other major franchises
- The latest gameplay trailer showcased new base building and ARPG action
- Arknights is also making a major splash offline with its own booth and activities
What's this? Even more Gamescom coverage? Believe it, buster. Unsurprisingly, that $500k+ trailer price tag means only the biggest releases are splashing out. Naturally, Yostar are front of the pack with a new trailer for Arknights: Endfield that shows off some intriguing new gameplay, including extensive base-building.
Longtime readers are probably already aware of the new innovations Arknights: Endfield is bringing to Yostar's fledgling series, but the Gamescom trailer gives us an even better look at one of the key elements. Base building is a major new feature here, with the ability to set up factory lines alongside your classic tower defence elements.
Naturally, there's also plenty of 3D ARPG action, another new addition to Arknights. And much like Honor of Kings: World earlier today, we can see all the time being used in the trailer to show off flashy effects and colourful, fast-paced action.

Knighthood
With its fancy, stylish sci-fi setting and already engaging gameplay, Arknights has been its own success story already. But Arknights: Endfield may be a dark horse competitor in the ARPG space, especially with the mixture of more modern 3D action and the inclusion of all the classic tower defence and base-building elements from the original Arknights. And the best part is that if you're lucky enough to be attending Gamescom this year, you'll be able to find offline appearances by Arknights: Endfield. Be sure to check in on Hall 8.1, Booth B021 for interactive activities, cosplayers and plenty of swag to collect.
But if you want to keep up with the oddities and unusual releases that won't be appearing on stage at Gamescom, we've got you covered, too. Check out our regular feature Off the AppStore where Will Quick is exploring the bizarre world of Ozwomp's Voyage, which you can only play on stores other than the big two.
