Konami to launch PS Vita download-only title AR Combat Digi Q for free

The first wave of download-only PS Vita titles will be led by AR Combat Digi Q: Friend Tank Battalion, a quasi-freemium effort from Konami.

Based on its range of infrared Combat Digi-Q Battle Tanks, Konami's vehicle shooter provides 40 stages of metallic mayhem.

The first five of these stages will be available for free. The remaining ones will be purchasable in three bundles - levels 6 through 30 will cost ¥800, while stages 31-35 and 36-40 will set you back ¥200 apiece.

Have I got something in my tracks?

To encourage would-be tank commanders to take to the virtual battlefield, Konami is discounting the first stage pack (stages 6 through 30) during launch month, dropping the price to ¥500.

Scheduled to coincide with the launch of the PS Vita, AR Combat Digi Q: Friend Tank Battalion will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation Network.
