Original Angry Birds gets yet another big update
15 new levels, power-ups, and Retina display support for iPad 3 on the way
Rovio can't seem to leave the original Angry Birds game alone, despite it being over two and a half years old now (and spawning quite a few sequels, too).
This latest update to the original game is a fairly meaty one: it contains 15 new beach-based levels as well as four new power-ups taken from the Facebook version to help out those still trying to three-star every stage.
They also work the same way as the Facebook version, so while you do get some for free, you'll have to pop down cash for any more.
I can see clearly nowConfusingly, in this update to the iPhone version of the game, there's mention of support for the new iPad's Retina display. This is confusing because it's not a Universal app, and the HD version hasn't, apparently, been updated yet.
Given that the HD version tends to get updated a little later than the iPhone one, however, we suspect this is just a case of a rogue line in the description.
The Android version of Angry Birds has yet to receive the update, by the way, but we'd expect it to be issued pretty soon.
