Ace Trainer is a new Farlight Games release, in soft launch for select regions

Have to acquire the totality of them

Ace Trainer is a new Farlight Games release, in soft launch for select regions
  • Farlight are hot off a big 2024 in their partnership with Lilith Games to bring AFK Journey to mobile
  • But what does one of their latest launches, Ace Trainer, have to offer?
  • Let's dig in and find out what this eclectic mix of tower-defence, pinball and more has to offer

Farlight had a pretty big 2024 as it once more partnered with Lilith Games to deliver AFK Journey to the idle RPG-hungry masses. So as we enter 2025, it's no surprise they've got more releases lined up. And the first we've spotted that stuck out to us is Ace Trainer, currently in soft-launch for regions including South Korea and the US.

So, what is Ace Trainer? Well, it's Pokemon; we're all friends here, right? I can say that! You're collecting, training and levelling up fantastical creatures to fight for you. Fortunately, Farlight has given it a Palworld-esque twist as you pit your friendly critters against hordes of zombies, making it more tower defence thana  turn-based battler.

Not only that but there are also pinball features too, letting you shoot to grab resources. It's an eclectic mix that I can't necessarily see arriving worldwide soon, but the early soft launch across multiple regions indicates Farlight have big hopes for Ace Trainer.

I think "everything and the kitchen sink" is a good way to describe Ace Trainer from what little we know about it so far. I'm in the UK so I've yet to get my hands on it, but looking at the mix of PvP, PvE, tower defence, pinball and more almost makes my head spin!

At the same time, for as much as it makes me roll my eyes I've no doubt some of you've felt yours light up at the same prospect. These are all very popular inclusions nowadays after all, but having all of them at once makes me wonder whether they'll be able to stand up to long-term scrutiny.

Meanwhile, if you like our snarky commentary, why not dig into the latest episode of the Pocket Gamer podcast to see what we have to say about the inaugural news for 2025?
