Cinemaware looking to resurrect Amiga classic Wings on mobiles

I never got the chance to play the cinematic dogfighter Wings back in the day, so the news that Cinemaware is looking to fire up the old ace for one more tour is music to my ears.

Mainly because the original looks horribly dated now.

Wings was set during the biplane era of flight, with your craft packing a gatling gun (timed to the rotation of the propellor blades, fact fans), taking the fight to the Kaiser high above the trenches of Europe, and strafing ground units with no remorse.

Naturally, Cinemaware has taken to Kickstarter to rally fans around the banner, and the studio is looking to raise an ambitious $350,000 to remake the title in HD for iOS, Android, and PC.

You can donate to the cause using the link above. We're not sure about both the dubbing and the choice of outfit for the female host in the pitch video, but there we go.

Will's obsession with gaming started off with sketching Laser Squad levels on pads of paper, but recently grew into violently shouting "Tango Down!" at random strangers on the street. He now directs that positive energy into his writing (due in no small part to a binding court order).
