LoL: Wild Rift Twisted Fate Champion Guide: Best build, items, and everything you need to know
Updated: July 26, 2021

In this League of Legends: Wild Rift Twisted Fate guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from his skills and how to allocate them to his build, skill combo, and runes. Here is what you will find in the Twisted Fate guide below:

The Card Master, also known as Twisted Fate, is by far one of the most fun and unique champions you could play in Wild Rift. This card trickster can inflict different effects on the opponent depending on which card he pulls, but that's not all there is. He can teleport all across the map (within a limited radius) with his ultimate and reveal all opponents, possibly leading to massive advantages for his team.

Overall, Twisted Fate is not extremely difficult to play once you get used to his kit. In fact, it's rather fun and exciting, because you can choose exactly what you want depending on the situation. For example, if you need Mana during the lane phase, you'll go for the Blue Card - and if you want to stun the enemy, you'll go for the Gold Card. Either way, he will need a little bit of practice, because you must always be patient, and play your cards right. Quite literally!

Twisted Fate can be a great pick in most situations since his kit works well with an AD build, and an AP build alike. No matter which builds you choose, however, his playstyle will not change much. It all relies on landing key cards with Skill 2, hitting Skill 1 for some additional poke, and activating Skill 3 for a burst of damage with auto-attacks.

Oh, and did I mention he can generate more Gold with his passive? A true gambler!

League of Legends: Wild Rift Twisted Fate skills

Loaded Dice (Passive)

Upon killing a unit, Twisted Fate rolls his 'lucky' dice, receiving bonus gold.

Wild Cards (Skill 1)

Twisted Fate throws three cards, dealing damage to each enemy unit they pass through.

Pick a Card (Skill 2)

Twisted Fate chooses a magic card from his deck, and uses that for his next attack, causing bonus effects. Red Cards deal damage in an area and slow, Blue Cards deal damage and restore mana, and Gold Cards deal damage and stun.

Stacked Deck (Skill 3)

Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals bonus damage. Activating this skill increases his Attack Speed, and attacking enemy champions rolls his Loaded Dice.

Destiny (Skill 4 / Ultimate)

Twisted Fate predicts the fortunes of his foes, revealing all enemy champions and enabling the use of Gate, which teleports Twisted Fate to any target location in 1.5 seconds.

How to combo as Twisted Fate:

The one main combo I would say is his stun -> Skill 1 combo, which allows for a guaranteed burst of damage on the opponent. However, there can be a million more combos, depending on which card you pick and the situation.

Therefore, I will not be able to list them all, but here are a few which are definitely going to make you look like a pro when playing TF:

  • Use your Red Card to clear the back wave of minions, because it will deal AoE damage and help you push the wave.
  • If an enemy is close to the wave of minions, by using Red Card you can apply the AoE damage on the enemy player as well.
  • Select Gold Card -> (target enemy champion who is far away) -> Flash -> (the Gold Card will go off once you're in range, or simply auto-attack the enemy) -> Skill 1

This combo is a little bit more on the advanced side since it's something you can use on enemies that aren't expecting you to go in or are trying to run away. Most of the time your card will automatically cast once you're in range, but it might take a little bit of getting used to. Also, you might want to activate the champion target lock.

  • Position your Skill 1 middle card to AoE the entire wave of minions and deal damage as they're trying to approach you (before they've settled).
  • Activate your Skill 3 when you are trying to farm or trade with an opponent, and keep in mind that the fourth attack deals bonus damage. That means, if you have a Lich Bane, you could combo it with Skill 2 as well, as follows:
Skill 3 -> auto-attack -> auto-attack -> auto-attack -> Skill 2 (Pick Blue Card or Gold Card) -> auto-attack -> Skill 1

Overall, pulling off all of Twisted Fate's combos will take a bit of getting used to, because there are always many (small) things to consider, that will lead to bigger advantages the more the game goes on.

In what order to level up the skills?

On Twisted Fate, it all depends on which build you will choose. I'll explain both AD and AP builds below:

If you go AP, then you want to max out your Skill 1 first, then Skill 2, and finally your Skill 3.

  • Level 1: Skill 1
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 3
  • Level 4: Skill 1
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 1
  • Level 7: Skill 1

Keep leveling Skill 1 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 2, and lastly on Skill 3. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (ultimate).

If you go AD, then you want to max out your Skill 3 first, then Skill 2, and finally your Skill 1.

  • Level 1: Skill 1
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 3
  • Level 4: Skill 3
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 3
  • Level 7: Skill 3

Keep leveling Skill 3 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 2, and lastly on Skill 1. Of course, whenever you can, you want to add 1 point into your Skill 4 (ultimate).

The best summoner spells

Exhaust: Exhausts the target enemy champion, reducing their movement speed by 20% and their damage dealt by 40% for 2.5 seconds.

Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

or

Ignite: Ignites target enemy champion, dealing 60-410 true damage (based on level) over 5 seconds and inflicting them with Grievous Wounds. (Grievous Wounds reduces healing effects by 50%). Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Wild Rift Twisted Fate - The best runes for AP

I'll start by mentioning that Twisted Fate's kit can be played in a lot of ways. There can be a "poke" AP build, or an on-hit AP build. One of the most effective options for the late game is the on-hit build since you will be able to use the ultimate and surprise enemies that are trying to escape or are alone in a side lane./p>

It all depends on the item build you want to go - some of the best enchantments are Stasis and Shadows because they will help you survive more and slow enemies down respectively.
